L-3 Communications has been contracted by the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to supply soldier modernisation technology to the Australian Army.
The $208m contract was awarded under the LAND 53 Phase 1BR programme and it covers the supply of specialised night vision equipment.
Under the five-year contract, the company will provide night-vision binoculars, a compact multifunction laser, and the next-generation of lightweight, miniature laser rangefinders.

L-3 Communications chairman and CEO Michael T. Strianese said: “This new business award demonstrates the growing demand for our highly advanced, capable products and solutions in a key international market.
“L-3’s ability to deliver a collaborative, one-company solution to meet a wide range of requirements is increasingly important to our customers, both in Australia and across the globe.”
