The Government of Peru also requested driver vision enhancers, GPS navigation, testing equipment, associated M2 Flex spare parts and tripods, M6 Smoke Grenade launchers, VIC-3 systems, operator new equipment training (OPNET) and field level maintenance training (FLMNET).

The sale also covers publications, training manuals, technical support services, de-processing services for shipment; and associated transportation.

"Following the sale, Peru aims to field capable forces and multi-role equipment for border security, disaster response, and confronting internal threats."

Following the sale, Peru aims to field capable forces and multi-role equipment for border security, disaster response, and confronting internal threats, such as the terrorist group Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path).

The procurement is also in line with Peru’s acquisition strategy to build a multi-dimensional brigade by 2030, and will enhance interoperability between the country and its allies, including the US.
