The UK and France have deployed soldiers to Estonia in support of a multinational battlegroup, as part of Nato’s enhanced Forward Presence (eFP).

Based in Tapa, the battlegroup recently participated in a bilateral exercise, Spring Storm 17, in Estonia.

Exercise Spring Storm is one of the largest military exercises held annually in Estonia.

The Estonian Defence Force’s annual exercise witnessed participation from close to 9,000 military personnel, including about 2,000 troops from Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, the UK and the US, as well as partners Finland, Sweden, Ukraine and Georgia.

The 15th iteration of Spring Storm was conducted in the northern and northeastern part of Estonia from 8 to 25 May this year.
