Boeing has awarded a contract to Germany-based mechanical engineering firm COTESA for the production of major components for the H-47 Chinook heavy-lift helicopter.

Under the terms of the deal, COTESA will develop portions of the Chinook tunnel cover section, which is a honeycomb-like core that makes up parts of the helicopter’s external skin, for the Chinook fleet worldwide.

With the signing of the agreement, COTESA is joining Boeing’s already established supply chain in the European country, along with its global supply chain of more than 20,000 suppliers and partners worldwide.
