Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) has expanded its Tavor Bullpup rifle family with the introduction of the new 7.62X51mm TAVOR 7 AR for military and law enforcement applications.
Made from high-strength, impact-modified polymer, the Tavor 7’s body has a hammer-forged, chrome-lined, free-floating barrel for improved accuracy and life cycle.
The rifle features a safety lever, a magazine release, and a bolt catch similar to the X95. In addition, the platform’s ejection side and charging handle can be switched quickly and easily from side to side.
Its M-LOK fore-end and MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail allows the use of multiple devices and accessories.
IWI CEO Shlomi Sabag said: “The IWI Tavor 7 enables users from the military and law enforcement markets to operate in a wide variety of scenarios at short and medium range with enhanced firepower efficiently, safely, and easily, with only minimal maintenance.
“The weapon will be available from Q1, 2018.”
IWI’s Tavor 7 is also equipped with a short stroke gas piston with a four-position variable gas regulator, a rotating bolt system that ensures maximum safety for the user, and a pistol grip that can be changed or modified.
It is available in Sniper Gray, OD Green, Black, and Flat Dark Earth colours, with replaceable barrels in 17in and 20in lengths.
The 28.4in rifle weighs 9lb without a magazine.
